Winterwoods
2021To walk in the woods is medication for the soul. One would expect the winter to be bleak, but it is full of color and subtlety. This work is drawn in charcoal, painted wit watercolors and drawn again in ink. The heavyweight paper is stretched on a wooden frame as you would with a canvas.
Lamplight
2015The porch light in the dark of night becomes an entrance into mysteries. Ink and bleach on paper. Mounted.
Flowers with embroidery thread
2020A pre-study for Bloemen van Gerrie. It's a charcoal drawing with all the colours of the flowers in embroidery thread as a background. Charcoal, embroidery thread.
Canal fishes
2020These small fishes are a delight, here and gone every few minutes, perpetually busy. A very small part of the grand gardens of the manor house. Watercolor, charcoal
Hydrangea
2020The surprise of these flowers are the little ones hidden at it's core. Markers and pen on paper.
Marians turnips
2020Visiting at my parent's house I found these on the table - fresh from the green grocer. Watercolour, charcoal, ink pen. On 300g watercolour paper.
Chrysanthemum
2016Nothing is as complex and yet so simply beautiful as a flower. The "rolled up" petals are just amazing. Watercolour, pastel, coloured paper
Aron lilys
2016Fresh from the garden, striking in their simplicity.
Cats
2016A brother and a sister growing up together, loving the cuddle. Two are warmer than one.
